make it sparkle
Location

History
You create pretty things.

Details
Isn't it painfully obvious we need a strong designer? You are great at web layout, graphics creation, and general design issues. We'll know it when we see it.

We can use a graphics designer/web designer and also an industrial designer. Bonus points if you are two-in-one.

(242 days ago)Engineer Job
software, hardware, wetware, dryware -- we do it all.
Location
the bay area

Note
We are a small pre-funding startup so all people share responsibilities for the development of the company. This position is essentially a co-founder level post (with all responsibilities and potential rewards thereof).

History
You enjoy solving problems. Creating things is not a job -- it's a life. You have realized if you spend too much time working on problems of no consequence with dull processes you slowly adjust to the smallness of the problem and lose sight of doing great things. You understand the difference between perfect and good enough.

Technical details
You understand technology. You know the layout of an IP packet and an ethernet frame. You know ARQ methods and routing protocols. You know the difference between CSMA/CD and CSMA/CA without looking it up. You also don't have to look up: SVM, LDA, PCA, HMM, or SVD. The word eigenvector doesn't scare you. You've played around with rrdtool's Holt-Winters forecasting. You understand the importance of measuring things. You understand multicast routing. Also, your websites use accessible Javascript with XMLHttpRequest in appropriate places. You think in lists, pattern matching, function guards, map, fold, and list comprehensions. You understand kernel level details of memory management, scheduling, and device drivers.

Background
Computer Science degree or Computer Engineering degree.
